It's my hope that this forum will help people keep up with events, and things concerning members of the Canadian comedy group, The Kids in the Hall. Then I won't feel so bad about when you post an event that I forget to update. There is a calendar that registered users can post events on... everything from tv appearances to birthdays. So feel free to post what you know.
Or if you just want to introduce yourself. Feel free to do so.
Thanks, barb

Greetings all, 34 year old fan from the UK here. I came looking for KITH info and found this place 'cause I'm just watching an episode of According to Jim, in which Kevin McDonald stars. I'm not going to single out any KITH as being the best, it was the most balanced 'group' ever together. It's kinda weird, as it wasn't greatly known in the UK (originally) but I've met a lot of people who comment on it as being something great. I'm not actually sure it was shown on anything other than Sky television, back in the day.

Hi William,
I am also Kithfan here (I'm using this account also so I can see things from the user side of the forum. Too many other buttons as Admin.) But my KITH experience began in 1989 when my best friend had HBO and I didn't. We were both Anglophiles and lovers of British Comedy. She made a vhs tape of the Kids explaining it wasn't British but it was pretty funny. I watched the tape and had to agree. Then the Comedy Channel (that later changed to Comedy Central on basic cable) began to air the previous week's HBO episodes. And I was hooked ever since.
"Welcome aboard!" as Kathy (with a K) would say.

Hi, I'm an 18 year old fan from the States. I got into Kids in the Hall around April of last year. But, don't let my newness to the Kids world be any sign of my fanaticism. I own everything, though I am a poor college student. I have the Megaset, Tour of Duty, Brain Candy, and Same Guys New Dresses. I have two tshirts, some pins, and a Brain Candy poster as well. I even went to Toronto with my friends and insisted we go eat at the Rivoli and I get a picture on the stage that they performed on.
But, I'm not a creepy fan. I hope. If I ever meet them, I pray I don't scream or go crazy. Just, try to ask them serious questions.
I found them through Dave Foley. I grew up watching NewsRadio and was reminded of my love when Celebrity Poker Showdown started airing with him. It turned into a nice bonding experience for my dad and me. I got the KITH seasons through Netflix, during a pretty depressing time in my life, and they knocked me out of it. I haven't been depressed since. Main reason for my complete obsession with them.
Basically, I just want to see them tour before I (or they) die. Though they are supposed to tour in Spring, I am scared of them moving it back AGAIN, because of Mark on Studio 60 and Dave doing that new improv show for NBC.
Crossing our fingers, though.

Hi all. Just wanted to say thanks Barb for getting this forum up an running, it's great to have a place to share one's KITH obsession! I remember watching Kids on CBC (though I live in the US), but then sort of lost track of them after that, as I don't have cable and never saw them on HBO or Comedy Central. I too started getting the DVD's from Netflix and got hooked all over again! Looking forward to some fun discussions here!

Howdy!
I first stumbled across Kids in the Hall during its second season in 1990, and I've been a fan ever since. I was forced to view it surreptitiously on an old black & white TV that was stored in my closet, as I had been banned from watching it. (My mom came into the room during the "Old Friends" sketch where Scott has sex with Kevin on the kitchen table, and was convinced the show would warp my fragile 13 year old mind). I was KITHless for a few years until I entered the land of cable TV, at which point I dutifully taped every single episode. Sometimes twice. Sometimes more than twice. (I really should have kept track.) I feel strangely attached to these tapes, and can't bear to part with them, even though A) I now have all the DVDs, and B) they take up a lot of space in my shoebox apartment.
Anyway, I've submitted transcripts to KITHfan in the past, and I've signed up here to post a few that, for one reason or another, I never submitted. They've been re-edited in order to clean up the grammar. I can't belieeeeeeve how bad my grammar was eightish years ago!

Aroomba--I love your story about being banned from watching KITH! The great thing about the DVDs is we can watch them with our kids and just skip the more inappropriate ones. So now KITH-obsession is a family thing! My kids have actually had face-pinching/head-crushing battles with their friends.

Thanks so much for starting this, Barb! It's exciting to see an active forum again. Introduction - I'm Tavie, I've been a KITH fan since I was about 14, and really active in online forums pretty much since then. I've met some of my best friends and had some of the greatest fun of my life watching KITH with my friends, going to see live shows, etc. I hope they get a chance to do another tour, and I hope I get enough money to finally get the last season on DVD and complete my collection. Love ya, Barb!!!

I am at the forum!
Hi, I'm Erin, though I've spent most of my KITH fandom going by Tilly. I'm going by my actual name from now on so that when I become famous people will be able to identify my old posts. That's called optimism.
I'm nearly 22, been a fan since I was 14. The old episodes still make me laugh harder than most of the other stuff in my DVD collection, and I wish Comedy Central would play them daily again so there could be an influx of new fans. I always want the Kids to come to New York and do stuff. I'm glad there is a forum where I can complain about the Kids being in various craptastic movies that I will probably see anyway.

Hi everyone, My name's Meghan and I'm an 18 (almost 19 ) year old resident of Lethbridge, Alberta. I fell in love with the Kids just before I turned 17. My brother used to watch episodes occasionally and I remember being indignantly bewildered at their comedic style. Finally, I grew up and recognized the genuis that is KITH. I've decided that I MUST see one of their live shows before I die. I'm looking forward to discussing their brilliance with fellow fans!

I'm Justine, and I've been a KitH fan since I was 13, but didn't get active online till I was 18. Missed the first tour because of work, but got to see them in 2002. I am really hoping they get to do another one. It's great to have this forum. I was so sad when the site went down. I am currently working on another one. yay
