"THE KIDS IN THE HALL" ANNOUNCE CANADIAN DATES

The Most Critically-Acclaimed Comedy Troupe of Our Generation Hits adds 5 Canadian cities to their national tour.

March 24, 2008- Toronto: "The Kids in the Hall", the watershed comedy troupe of the 1990's, return to their live-performance roots, after six years. Featuring, the original five; Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson. The tour titled "Live As We'll Ever Be", will be in Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, London and of course, Toronto. Tickets for all dates go on-sale, Saturday, March 29 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.ca.

Brought to you by Russell & Clayton Peters Presents and Hugh B Presents, "Live As We'll Ever Be", represents a new era in the troupe's collaboration, and is comprised of completely fresh material which simultaneously reflects who they are now and their patently off-kilter take on ordinary life.  Favorite characters from the television series appear in entirely new situations, sharing the stage with new KITH personas which are destined for the same level of cult adoration.  In a world where most entertainment tries to play it safe, "The Kids in the Hall" steadfastly refuse to follow the trend, preferring instead to slaughter sacred cows and look at the world – and each other – with refreshing honesty.

Discovered by Lorne Michaels, creator of "Saturday Night Live", "The Kids in the Hall" - Dave Foley, Bruce McCulloch, Kevin McDonald, Mark McKinney, and Scott Thompson - exploded into the American consciousness when their half-hour sketch comedy show debuted on cable's HBO in 1989. The troupe's distinctly edgy humor broke new ground with their characterizations of secretaries, prostitutes, gays, drug users, and oddball creations like the half human Chicken Lady, the vengeful "head crusher" and the chauvinist Cabbage Head. Critical acclaim, Emmy and Ace nominations, and a legion of extremely dedicated fans quickly followed the debut.

The show itself ended in 1995, but lived on in constant re-runs on cable's Comedy Central, offering new fans the opportunity to fall under the "hilariously warped" (Entertainment Weekly) spell of the "Kids'" spin on life, love, lust, middle-class values, and the dark corners of suburbia. Since the show ended, each member of the troupe has been involved in a variety of extremely successful projects, but finally acquiesced to the steady demands from fans to take their classic sketches out of the hall and back in front of a live audience in 2000.  A movie version of the tour, "Same Guys, New Dresses" followed, along with another tour and DVD in 2002 ("Tour of Duty").

Join The Kathies, Headcrusher, the Sales Guys, Buddy Cole, and people you've never met before (but somehow recognize from your everyday life) on an adventure into the bizarre and  side-splittingly funny.

I am the hugest, Kids in the Hall fan.
Could not wait for this show.
Wanted front row's more then anything.
So I go to Ticketmaster, secure a nice front row center for myself.

Oh, only people with American Express cards can purchase until Friday.
Fuck you ticketmaster. Fuck you Kids in the Hall. This pre purchase bullshit..
my god, I am so angry right now. Who in Canada even has an Amex? Jesus Christ man.
Who is to blame? Ticketmaster? I know the incentive from Amex gets passed to
KITH as well. Fuck you guys. Fucking assholes, way to treat your fans.

Oh, and Toronto tickets about $25 more expensive for good seats then in the states.
Real nice, you fucking greedy pricks.

Look at my other posts to see how much I was gushing over this. What a letdown.

I hate Ticketmaster with a passion because they did screw me out of front row KITH tickets back in 2000. So I feel your pain. However I'm going to the shows in Austin both nights (I didn't get a pre-sale because I didn't know the exact when and wheres, funny huh considering I'm the admin and owner of this site), and the price I paid is equivalent to what I paid for 3 tickets for one show back in 2000.

You may still get good seats, I bought my tickets 3 days after they officially went on sale and I'm about 17 rows back. That's not too bad. Although I do still wonder what I would have gotten on the first day had I known about it. I'm really thankful Ticketmaster wasn't involved in this one.

I was wrong to lose my cool. It's painfully obvious this is all Ticketmaster. Now I understand all the backlash against them over the years! I apologize to the troupe, you guys have given me so much laughter and entertainment over the past 18 years, it was totally wrong for me to snap like that. I was just so darn mad! I'll be part of the show in some capacity, that is what really counts.

I was pissed too at the NYC presale being AmEx only. I ended up with 8 rows back. Not too bad but still - front row woulda been great.

But I want to point out again that KITH get absolutely NOTHING from AmEx and have NOTHING to do with Ticketmaster and Amex's arrangements.

And Barb, I feel your pain as well. But I'm happy to be going, anyway.

Down with Ticketmaster.

I agree with all above, and want to include in the complaint the dozens of FEES that come with ONE already overpriced ticket. And I don't just mean for KITH! It's absurd to advertise a ticket at say $50 when in reality you will be paying $75 OR MORE with 'convenience' fees, 'building fees (this has happened on this tour actually!)- wtf are 'BUILDING' fees?? Among taxes and shipping. AND you're unlikely to get front row seats AND you have to pay fees on top of the gas it takes to drive (or god forbid, FLY) to a show, food and drink, and maybe a souvenir.

I know it's not the artists fault entirely... But they do have a say! They can choose other ticket outlets.

I will give the KITH credit, they are very gracious to the people who come to see them and I am pleased they are sticking around to sign autographs and take pictures after the show. That takes some of the sting out of the TicketSHAFTER reaming.

Hey Folks,
I work at the State Theatre in downtown historic Easton, PA.  The May 4th date has been rescheduled to my theatre,  www.statetheatre.org .  This is originally a 1926 vaudeville house that shouldn't be missed!  Every seat is a great one, no matter who or what is playing.  Restaurants to consider:  Pearly Baker's Ale House, Ocean, Setta Luna, Phenom, River Grille, MexTex Trio, and Sogo; all are downtown within three blocks of the theatre.
I hope that someone can use this information.  I would love to hear about the show since I will be in the Grand Canyon on that date...the trip was scheduled first!  I have been a huge fan since almost the beginning of their adventure, and I am EXTREMELY disappointed that I will not get to see the show.  Otherwise, I actually would have gotten to meet them.  I hope to pay to see them in NYC, if I don't have to work. Have fun to all those who are fortunate enough to see them....

lesbfriends...I'm thinking about Tony...one time...sausages...seven things to do today...cabbage head...
I could go on forever  Wink
