1  Adventures in KITH-Land / News / Re: Kids in the Hall getting a new movie on: August 27, 2008, 11:43:54 PM
Oh man this could be so great!  The name of the movie is "Death Comes to Town" and it has an IMDB page already.  It looks like they're planning a Canadian release in January of 2010.  No details about plot or anything, and the only cast or crew listed are the Kids, but it's all 5!
2  Adventures in KITH-Land / News / Re: Dave and Kevin interviewed on CBC Radio today on: June 05, 2008, 04:18:29 PM
Thanks Ian!  I just downloaded it and can't wait to listen.  Cool
3  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Favorite Kids Sketch on: June 02, 2008, 01:05:34 PM
How can anyone have just ONE favorite? Huh

Mine, in no real order are:

Did you ever beat up your dad? (Season 2)
Head-crusher girlfriend (Season 1)
The poker game/wish I could have a period (Season 1)
Apartment games (Season 4)
Mystery sperm (Season 5)
And, as you can probably tell from my sig, 3 for the moon (season 1)

Of course, by tomorrow I'll probably have whole new list. Cheesy
4  General Category / General Discussion / How did you find out about Kids in the Hall? on: June 02, 2008, 01:01:38 PM
What are your stories?  What was your absolute first experience with Kids in the Hall?  How did you start watching the show?

I live in SE Michigan, just outside of Detroit, and we get the CBC (Canadian TV) here.  One night around 1992 my husband and I were channel-surfing and caught the French fur trappers sketch.  We had never heard of KITH and had no idea what it was about, but we were totally hooked from that point on.
5  Adventures in KITH-Land / KITH TOUR 2008 / DVD of tour? on: June 02, 2008, 12:54:28 PM
Does anyone know if there will be DVD of this tour?  I would buy it in a heartbeat, and I wasn't that crazy about the last 2 tour videos (Same Guys New Dresses and Tour of Duty).
6  Adventures in KITH-Land / KITH TOUR 2008 / Re: KITH show - Royal Oak (Detroit), Mich. on: June 02, 2008, 12:49:43 PM
Hey Bdreamer, I was at that show too!  It was so incredible!  I admit, my expectations were not that high, since I found Tour of Duty and Same Guys New Dresses to be only moderately funny.  Plus, I had seen "Rape Kevin" and "Carf*****s" already on Youtube and wasn't that impressed.  But still, it was a Kids in the Hall show, something I've been dying to see for almost 20 yrs.  And it was awesome!  It totally blew me away, I loved it.  Even the two video sketches totally worked in context with the rest of the show.  And yes, the new material was great!  Even the few old sketches they did had some new lines.  I loved, loved, loved it!  It really did feel like watching the TV show, especially with the call-backs about, well, you know what they were.  Don't want to spoil it for anyone who may be seeing them later elsewhere.

And-I was at the earlier show too.  If that was the "all-ages" show, I can't imagine what the 18+ show would have been like!
7  Adventures in KITH-Land / KITH TOUR 2008 / KITH playing Detroit on May 30, 2008 on: April 11, 2008, 05:40:16 AM
AND I'VE GOT TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the shouting, but I am that excited.  I've never seen them live, this is like a dream come true.  May 30 is like an eternity away.
Oh, BTW, they will be at the Royal Oak Music Theater (technically not really in the city of Detroit) and tickets are available on Tickets.com, or they were when I got mine a few weeks ago.
I can't wait.
8  Adventures in KITH-Land / Mark McKinney / Re: Studio 60 on: February 09, 2007, 05:03:43 AM
I downloaded the episodes I wanted from iTunes, they're $2 each.  Like a lot of people I find it hard to commit to watching a show at its scheduled time each week.  Since I don't have Tivo or a DVR, iTunes is great!  I read on EW.com last week that Studio 60 is going on hiatus or something, and likely won't be back.  Kind of sad, since despite its flaws it was a quirky, original show.  On the plus side, maybe this frees up one more of the guys to start touring again!
9  Adventures in KITH-Land / Kevin McDonald / Re: Kevin in Epic Movie on: February 09, 2007, 04:35:28 AM
So it sounds like Kevin was just in the one scene then, huh?  Man, I wish I had caught that Youtube bit.  Ah well.
10  General Category / General Discussion / Re: The Pilot on: February 07, 2007, 04:56:53 AM
I'm pretty sure the commentary is only over a few sketches from the pilot, not the whole thing.  I'd love to see it also, the whole thing with and without commentary.
11  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Welcome on: February 03, 2007, 07:34:56 PM

I live in Australia and are the same age as Dave Foley so us older folk still like it.

Hey New guy!  I am around the same age as you are, old enough to remember watching KITH in its original run.  All ages enjoy them!
12  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Conversation Starter on: January 29, 2007, 11:27:33 PM
OK, so people seem to have figured out you just pick which you like better.  There's no score.   Grin
Here are mine:

Hmmm . . . .

1.   Flying Pig or Chicken Lady?
Ugh, how about neither?  I never cared for either one.

2.   Cops or whores?
Mostly the whores, but I do love the Cops one where they're holding hands walking back from the beach.

3.   Fran, Gordon and Brian or Doug, Jean and Bobby Terrance?
Very close, but Fran Godon and Brian win out.  "Your mother would boil a pop-tart" is just plain genius.

4.   Stu/Sue/Sid and Charisse or Francesaca Fiori and Bruno Puntz-Jones?
Francesca and Bruno, by a mile.  Isn't it creepy how sexy Dave can be as a man or woman?

5.   The Sizzler sisters or Weston and Virgil?
I kind of have a soft spot for Weston and Virg,  can't say why.

6.   Street singers or French fur trappers?
Fur trappers, of course.  Although I like the street singers when they're not singing--"Apartment games" is sheer joy.

7.   Humanoids for Humanism or Steps?
I love HFH, especially because the dialogue is so rapid-fire that I have to watch the sketch a couple of times to get everything, so there's always something new to laugh at.

8.   Buddy Cole or Darrill?
Count me on team Darrill.  Could anyone really be that sweet and naive, or is he just stupid?  Plus the voice, where in the heck did that come from?

9.   Kathy or Cathy?
Oh come on, don't ask me to choose!

10.  Gavin or Danny Husk?
Gavin all the way.  "Look mom, if you'd care to, the fish are swimming very sadly..."

11.  Tammy or the Queen?
The Queen, definitely.  Scott makes her seem kind, friendly, and caring.

12.  Gerald and Gerald (lawyers) or Brett and Brent Sudelman (agents)?
Gerald.  Gerry.  Ger. G.  'Nuff said.  Smiley

13.  Sausages or Feelyat?
I kind of like Feelyat  (see #8 above).

14.  Head-crusher or Face-pincher?
     Head-crusher is my idol!

15.  Tucker or Idiot Boy?
Tucker.  At least he can talk.   Cheesy

16.  Armada or Mississippi Gary?
Mississippi Gary.  At least he can play the mouth organ.

17.   Simon and Hecubus or Satan?
Simon and Hecubus.  The Satan character is just annoying to me.

18. Hitman or Axe Murderer?
Hitman.  I love the voice.  And hair.

19. Lex and Dean?
Ummm, I forgot which is which.  I vote for Kevin's character.

20.  Raj or Christine?
It's a toss-up here.  Neither character is very interesting without the other.  Their interplay makes the story.

And, how about:
21.  Bad doctor or Cabbage Head?
13  General Category / General Discussion / Conversation Starter on: January 29, 2007, 05:33:52 AM

2.   Cops or whores?
3.   Fran, Gordon and Brian or Doug, Jean and Bobby Terrance?

5.   The Sizzler sisters or Weston and Virgil?
6.   Street singers or French fur trappers?
7.   Humanoids for Humanism or Steps?
8.   Buddy Cole or Darrill?
9.   Kathy or Cathy?
10.  Gavin or Danny Husk?
11.  Tammy or the Queen?
12.  Gerald and Gerald (lawyers) or Brett and Brent Sudelman (agents)?

Aroomba--I love your story about being banned from watching KITH!  The great thing about the DVDs is we can watch them with our kids and just skip the more inappropriate ones.  So now KITH-obsession is a family thing!  My kids have actually had face-pinching/head-crushing battles with their friends.
15  Adventures in KITH-Land / Kevin McDonald / Re: Kevin in Epic Movie on: January 26, 2007, 04:48:25 AM
My kids really want to see this, but I also dislike this kind of pop-culture parody.  Does Kevin have more than just the one line we see in the trailer?  If anyone does see it, please tell us how it is.  My kids just may end up dragging me to this yet.
